Mother in Perth

 She normally lives in Canberra, but came for a week's visit to Perth in April 2025. The last time they came she and her partner stayed in a hotel on Adelaide Terrace in the city, but that was before I had my own house. This time they stayed with me and my daughter.

On Sunday we went to King's Park.

We went to Cottesloe and walked along the beach for a bit. There was a seal at the northern end, trying to rest. My daughter was fascinated by this animal lying in the seaweed. A couple of other kids were also really interested.

This is my first public writing on any forum. I have been working in an industry that is very heavy on technical writing, but it doesn't present many opportunities to express more personal thoughts. 

In this blog, I will attempt to express some more personal views and show some photography that I have accumulated over the years. 

Hopefully this practice of writing and showing some photos will be of interest to me over the longer term. And, who knows: I might find an audience.

 

There are a few more important things than friends and people that you appreciate. One of the places I met friends are in Kuala Lumpur, at a cafe called Ra-Ft (https://ra-ft.com/). I lived in Mont Kiara, KL, for a period of almost 3 years and in that time I ate at the cafe more times than I want to count. Between Christmas and New year I spent a few days back in KL, and made sure I had at least one meal at Ra-Ft again.
